The midpoint of the line segment refers to the center point between endpoints of a line segment. It divides a line segment into two equivalent segments.  There are many ways of determining the midpoint of a line segment. One is, simply dividing the length of the line segment by two and counting the value either of the endpoints, if the line segments are in vertical or horizontal form.  When the line segments are in diagonal form, use the midpoint formula. Determining the coordinates of the midpoint of a line segment is finding the average or the mean of the x coordinates and the mean of the y coordinates.
