The midpoint of the line segment refers to
the center point between endpoints of a line segment. It divides a line segment
into two equivalent segments. There are
many ways of determining the midpoint of a line segment. One is, simply
dividing the length of the line segment by two and counting the value either of
the endpoints, if the line segments are in vertical or horizontal form. When the line segments are in diagonal form,
use the midpoint formula. Determining the coordinates of the midpoint of a line
segment is finding the average or the mean of the x coordinates and the mean of
the y coordinates.
