Both Rome and the United States of America were great powers
whose influence affected world affairs. Apart
from being superpowers, both shared similar cultural traits. One such cultural trait is both are open
societies. Both Rome and the U.S.
welcome immigrants. At the height of its
power Rome had many foreigners living in its City. Many of these foreigners built thriving
businesses and their quality of life improved.
Just like in Rome, the U.S. also welcomes foreigners to its shores. Many who have acquired American citizenship
are now living prosperously thanks to the promise of the American Dream.
