Great Britain recognized the rights of the Jewish people to establish a "national home in Palestine". Yet they greatly curtailed entry of Jewish refugees into Israeleven after World War II. They split Palestine mandate into an Arab state which has become the modern day Jordan, and Israel.
Hello there!
Israel was ultimately made into a state in the year of 1948. It had been created because Britain, who owned the land, finally agreed to form it as a Jewish state. The land of Israel was originally bigger, but unfortunately some of the Arab nations attacked the state and took some of the territory away. Eventually the Israelis took back Jerusalem, the capital, but not the land.
Hope this helps, and have a pleasant day.
