This situation describes a "loss in biodiversity due to human activity" and I would also say that it's a "loss in biodiversity due to an invasive species". Of course because humans have purposefully tore down the habitat to make room for shopping, it's a human activity. However, in the grand scheme of things, humans ARE an invasive species. We take over wherever and whenever we please without regard to the surrounding.
