Use Newton's laws of motion to answer!
When NASA launched the space shuttle, it needed a LOT of fuel to get off of the ground, but once in orbit, it did not need any fuel.
Why did it need so much fuel to get off the ground?
Why could it turn off its engines and use no fuel once in orbit?

Respuesta :

because the gravity near the earths crust/surface is greater than once in orbit it doesnt need any fuel because the earths gravatitional pul is keeping it in orbit just like it keeps the moon it orbit around it and the sun keeps the planets in its orbit
Hope This Helps!
