This is when a child starts to develop a mind of their own and they start to become their own person their personalities may fluctuate but the child starts becoming dependent on themselves.
Many parents try and compare young children to other children, like "Look at her, she's so smart" and ect. so if you don't, you may end up damaging their psyche by continuously getting mad at them for no being perfect.
