The construction of the first 50% of a road cost $250,000. The total cost of constructing the road worked out to $550,000. How much more did the second half of the road cost compared to the first half?

first half cost  250,000
2nd half cost (550000 - 250000) = 300,000

2nd half cost 50,000 more

250,000/550,000 = 45%...1st half
300,000/550000 = 55%...2nd half

answer = 55% - 45% = 10%
