Both the reproductive systems have gonads which produce sperm and egg and other sex organs. Both the systems experience maturation of their reproductive organs during puberty, at this time the organs become functional.
Female and male reproductive systems show some similarities and dissimilarities in humans. The similarities include both male and female reproductive systems consist of gonads which produce gamete cells such as egg and sperm and other sex organs. The gonads in both male and female secrete sex hormones during the stage of puberty which results into maturation of the reproductive systems.
The hormones which regulate gonads that is testes in males and ovaries in females are called gonadotropins. In both males and female reproductive systems, FSH stimulates gamete production and LH stimulates the production of hormones by the gonads.
