Being in good mental health does not guarantee that you will never go through difficult times or have emotional issues. Everybody experiences disappointment.

And although while these things are natural aspects of life, they can nonetheless lead to melancholy, anxiety, and tension. People with good mental health, however, are more able to recover from hardship, trauma, and stress, just as physically fit people are better able to recover from disease or injury. This trait is known as resilience. Resilient individuals possess the skills necessary to deal with challenging circumstances while keeping a good attitude. In both good and terrible times, they maintain their productivity, adaptability, and focus. Additionally, because of their resilience, they are less fearful of novel situations and the future. They are optimistic that a solution will eventually be found, even when they are unsure of how a problem will be solved right now. Anyone can have mental or emotional health issues, and the majority of us will over our lifetimes. One in five of us will experience a diagnosable mental condition just this year. But matter how widespread mental health issues are, many of us do nothing to change our circumstances. or using drink, drugs, or self-destructive habits as self-medication instead of listening to the emotional messages that tell us something is wrong.
