Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. It is a vector quantity and having both magnitude and direction. Centripetal acceleration is the acceleration associated with an object moving through a circular path.

The centripetal acceleration is the product of radius of the circular  path and the linear acceleration of the moving body. As the speed increases, the acceleration is changing in either direction.

As plotted in the graph, the acceleration increases with increase in time for a body moving with an increasing speed through a circular path.
