Similar to skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle has bands, but unlike smooth muscle, its contractions are uncontrollable.

Explanation:

According to human anatomy, a cardiac cycle is a full pulse in which the atria and ventricles sequentially alternate between contracting and relaxing, causing blood to flow unidirectionally (in one direction) throughout the body.

One of the three (3) muscles found only in the heart of vertebrates, cardiac muscle is also known as the myocardium. The other two (2) muscles are skeletal muscle tissue and smooth muscle tissue.

Similar to skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle is made up of bands called sarcomeres (contractile units), however unlike smooth muscle, the contractions of cardiac muscle are involuntary and are normally controlled by the sinoatrial node of the heart.
