What is hypertension?

Hypertension occur when a person blood pressure is elevated or become abnormally high than normal.

Stroke occur when sufficient blood are not flow to the brain causing damage to the brain and  a stroke tend to  occurs if vessels in the affected person  brain rupture and bleed. A chronic untreated hypertension or high blood pressure can tend to lead to stroke


Some of the symptoms of hypertension are:

  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue or tiredness
  • Shortness of breath
  • Lightheadedness etc

It is of necessity that people check their blood level so as to know if their blood level is high or low.

Therefore If the nurse is teaching a client about chronic untreated hypertension. the complication that the nurse explain to the client is stroke.
