Stamp Act was "a law passed by the British Parliament in 1765 to raise revenue, requiring that stamps be used for all legal and commercial documents, newspapers, etc. in the American colonies: it was repealed in March, 1766, because of strong colonial opposition."

The colonists used mob violence to pressure stamp collectors into quitting, claiming that only their own representative assemblies had the authority to tax them and that the act was thus unlawful.

That is the reason due to which stamp act faced more resistance than sugar act
