The area of a rectangle is length × width so half of this is 2.945 × 10⁶ is used to grow crops.

A rectangle is a geometrical figure in which opposite sides are equal.

The angle between any two consecutive sides will be 90 degrees.

Area of rectangle = length × width.

Given a field in form of a rectangle.

Since the area of rectangle = length × width

So,

Area = 3.1 × 10³ × 1.9 × 10³

Area = (3.1 × 1.9) × (10³×10³)

Area = 5.89 × 10³⁺³

Area = 5.89 × 10⁶

Now half of this is used to grow crops.

It means Area / 2 ⇒ 5.89./2 × 10⁶

⇒ 2.945 × 10⁶ (In the scientific notation)
