In Chapter 15 of "To kill a Mockingbird," the two groups of men can be compared and contrasted in the following ways:

The first group of men who knock on Atticus's front door appears friendly and acts as co-conspirators with Atticus on how to ensure that no harm comes to Atticus because of the brewing troubles among the KKK and the attempt to move Tom out of the Maycomb jail.

On the other hand, the second group of men who visit Atticus at the jailhouse appears to be a mob without central control, though they have a leader in the person of Walter Cunningham.  They hatch plans to lynch Tom Robinson before he is moved out of the Maycomb jail.

Thus, while the two groups who visit Atticus are made up of men, one group is friendly while the other is hostile.
