1798 letter to the editor regarding Sedition and Alien Acts

below is what we have so far.

Dear Sirs, I am writing to you today in hopes of gaining public awareness of the Fear that most Americans have lost their voice by our Government adopting the "Alien and Sedition Acts". We the people were guaranteed freedoms with the Bill of rights and our Declaration of Independence, that have been taken away by the same fathers that gave it to us. I am addressing The freedom of Speech. We are born of Immigrants and Aliens to our country. We could all be effected by these acts, just by the government saying so. They take our voice away, and call us unruly and defiant and then we along with our families are criticized and punished for speaking out. The government should Not have the power to hold all of us in Fear and Silence. Our voices should all be heard, and listened too, and our punishments should be individualized, and not made hastily or discriminatory.
“The Naturalization Act raising the length of residency to become a citizen; the Alien Act allowing expelling aliens deemed dangerous; the Enemies Act allowing the expulsion and/or imprisonment of aliens deemed dangerous; finally, the Sedition Act allowing fines for criticizing the government, Congress or the president.
"It is time to put these ideas of fear and hate into the past as well as any fear mongers who promote them for political gain."
