You stay more focused and interactive with a sport you do like. but if it's a sport you don't like then you won't willingly do it or stay interested which could make u not involved.

Well depending on who you are and what your personality type is then you could be just as involved and still not liking the sport. Some people will still pay just as much attention because they would not want to be a poor sport.
