A factory is like an organism's cell because it has many components that a factory has, for example it has an ER which packages items to the nucleus which could be the office

Cells are the basic unit of life, which carries several cell organelles specialized in their functions. The cells function similarly as the factory would work.

What are the similarities between the working of a cell and a factory?

  • The factory includes a head office, where all the data processing, checking and transporting is regulated. The same is the function of the nucleus where genetic material is processed, transported, and checked.

  • The endoplasmic reticulum is involved in the synthesis of proteins, which is similar to the manufacturing unit of a factory.

  • The other subunits that are involved in the manufacturing or producing the equipment of a product are similar to the Golgi apparatus of the cell. It is involved in the synthesis of lysosomes.

  • Factory or industry will be similar to the cytoplasm, where all the units or organelles are suspended and work collectively to produce a product or carry out a function.

Thus, the cell works similarly to that of the factory, in which each organelle is developed to carry out different functions.
