They provide group immunity, for example someone who got their measles shot and is not able to get measles protects those with autoimmune disorders that can't get a shot. From a social standpoint healthy people can also influence others to be more healthy. By promoting healthy habits, they can inspire more people to follow those habits and improve the overall health of a population.
