Pick the four ground rule topics for project teams that you believe are the most important. Tell why you believe each is so critical, explain how they are related to each other, and give at least two specific suggestions for each.

The four rules that I would consider to be the most important for project teams would be:

  • Listen to each other.
  • Give credit where credit is due.
  • Be patient with others.
  • Allow people to use their own personal skills.

I believe that listening to others is critical because it allows good ideas to be exchanged. The way this could be achieved would be by waiting for your turn to speak and paying attention to others. Giving credit allows everyone to feel valuable. I would achieve this by including everyone's names in all documents and by praising others. Being patient allows the group to remain united, and I would achieve this by trying to control my anger and by ensuring everyone has time to develop ideas. Finally, I would allow people to use their own personal skills by asking everyone to focus on the task that they find easier and by paying attention to how everyone behaves throughout the project.
