Number of large dogs = 2 + number of small dogs
L = 2 + S -------- eqn 2
Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2 to find values of "L" and "S"
Substitute eqn 2 in eqn 1
S + 2 + S = 8
2S + 2 = 8
2S = 6
S = 3
