Chemical property is defined as the property of a substance which is observed during a reaction where the chemical composition identity of the substance gets changed.

Physical property is defined as the property which can be measured and whose value describes the state of physical system. For Example: State, density etc.

Thus as new substances are being formed and thus the identity of the substance changes, it is a chemical property.

b) A magnet separates a mixture of black iron shavings and white sand:

This is an example of physical reaction where substances are separated, no new substance is being formed and thus it is a physical property.
