The role of a juror is mainly to make the verdict of the case that is presented to them. This is why jurors are only part of the trial courts, not the appellate courts. If they were also in the appellate courts, it would be a violation of the US Constitution since it is considered to be double jeopardy. After the case is presented, the juror goes into the deliberation room and decides the outcome of the case. His or her decision determines who is found guilty or not guilty.
