Answer: The Second amendment guarantees the Constitutional right of the people to keep and bear arms.
Explanation:
The Second amendment guarantees the Constitutional right of the People to keep and bear arms. The founding Fathers, having to deal with a tyrannical Ruler, The King of England, realized that the People could not exercise their basic freedoms that were expressed in the Constitution without having a means to back up their position. Having been fighting with the King they knew that without the threat of Weapons against those who possessed Weapons, mainly, the British Military, that there was no way to repel oppression and the Tyrrany of a Government that viewed the United States as a Colony or Outpost of England and was seeking to keep the U.S. as a Colony. The Framers of the Constitution, realizing that any Government, even the one that was being created by them at the time, could eventually become tainted and corrupt, requiring a system of checks and balances of power, that is, the means to repel an oppressive Government. In the Constitution this is stated in the passage reading that a well regulated Militia is necessary, meaning the people, being the Militia, or Citizen-Soldiers would have the right to keep and if necessary, bear arms to safeguard their Freedoms.
