The U.S. government would be better if it were a more direct democracy. It would be. This is why, power isn’t given to popular sovereignty anymore. It’s mostly oligarchy and it will be until the middle class change it.There’s a lot of money involved in politics and where there’s money, there’s corruption. We cannot trust our politicians. That is an issue. When there are two presidential candidates and most of the country is saying neither or having to choose from the lesser evil, there is an issue. We are no longer represented by our representatives.
