The "Space Race" was a very spectacular thing, it was a race to see who could get to the stars between the US and Everyone else who wanted to get to space. It affected America a lot, inspiring people to "get going" or to study and get to go to space as well. It has also inspired the many scientists, to study other planets surfaces and oxygen levels as well as making new gadgets along the way.

"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

the space race was the exploration of space. nations were in competition with each other regarding their achievements. but the space race didnt just impact space research, it also left a big impact on technology. it showed which countries had the best of things; science, technology, economic systems etc. most importantly, after wwII, the soviet union and united states became aware of the fact that rocket research was highly important to the military, more than they thought it was.
