The Cherokees were not happy about the increasing presence of Americans on their ancestral lands in the early 1800s and produced weapons and fortifications to declare war on the United States after that. There are series of battles, ambushes, raids, skirmishes and campaigns after that known as the Chickamauga Wars.

They attempted to practice an American way of life and live in peace with Americans. The Cherokees developed their own written language and even developed plantations with slaves. ( it's C )
