Further Explanations:

The Montgomery bus boycott was a societal and political protest against racial discrimination in the public transport of Montgomery. It is considered to be the pioneering event of the civil rights movement lasted from 5th December 1955 to 20th December 1956. Arrest of African American women in Rosa park after her refusal to vacate her seat for a white person triggered the movement. The movement also got the support of many prominent figures such as Martin Luther king and Ralph Abernathy.

Prior to this movement, racial segregation was mandated by Jim crow law that prevented the hiring of black as drivers and forced the black passengers to stand at the end of the transports. The black passengers were even forced to offer their seats to the white in spite of paying the total fare and holding 75% of the bus systems riders.

These segregation were results of frustration over the labor movement and court decisions in cases like Brown v. Board of Education and Morgan v.virginia that favored blacks.
