Difference in the per capita consumption of chicken in the U.S = 45 - 37.6 = 7.4 pounds.

Increase in per capita consumption of chicken in the U.S in each year = 7.4/6 = 1.23 pounds per year

So expected  per capita consumption  of chicken to be in 1995 = 45+(1995-1989)*1.23 = 52.38 pounds
