Producers are the beginning of a simple food chain. ... All energy comes from the Sun and plants are the ones who make food with that energy. They use the process of photosynthesis. Plants also make loads of other nutrients for other organisms to eat.

The role of producers in a food web are very important, it’s the the most important part of the food web it’s the main food source that has energy from the sun, plants use the sun for photosynthesis to make food which helps them continue to grow and can feed off for other animals or plants
