An example would be a ball that is dropped from a certain height and falls straight to the ground. At that height (its highest point) it would have gravitational potential energy. As the ball falls, that energy is converted more and more into kinetic energy. At the ball's lowest point it would have the most kinetic energy and the least potential energy.
