This is an odd polynomial. Note that the odd poly y=x^3 starts in Quadrant III and ends in Quadrant I. Same for y=x^5. However, y= -x^5 starts in Q II and ends in Q IV.
Thus, if x becomes increasingly neg, -x^5 increases in QII; if x becomes increasingly positive, -x^5 decreases in Q IV.
Thus, if x becomes increasingly neg, -x^5 increases in QII; if x becomes increasingly positive, -x^5 decreases in Q IV.
