A. Strong electrolytes - HNO₃, Ca(OH)₂ and NaBr
Strong electrolytes are ionic compounds which form ions by fully
dissociation in water. They are good electricity
conductors. The dissolved ions act as the charge carriers. This
includes both strong acids and bases and other ionic compounds
B. Weak
electrolytes - acetic acid and propyl amine
Weak electrolytes are the compounds which partially dissociates in aqueous
solutions. They are poor in conducting electricity due to the
partially ionization.
C. Non
electrolytes - Sucrose and ethanol
Non electrolytes are the compounds which do not give ions fully or partially by dissolving. They dissolve as molecules and do not participate in conducting
electricity. This includes sugars, alcohols and
other soluble carbon compounds.
