I would say that majoritarianism best applies to the United States. This system revolves around the idea of "majority rules." This is evident in several different ways in American society.
When it comes to local and state elections, candidates are picked by a majority rule system. Along with this, local and state laws that are left up to the voters (like overrides and initiatives) also revolve around a majority rules concept.
