The best answer I'd go with is B. Doing so would violate the very custom Okonkwo is trying to preserve, because Okonkwo's custom has to deal with peace, even though he's not the peaceful type, but in this case and in other cases like breaking the peace on the peaceful week, he's being very ironic.
