Basically the archaeological period in Europe started about 35,000 yBP, marked by a great increase in technology and various kinds of art, which is called the Upper Paleolithic period. It is the third and last old stone age. Paleolithic has the earliest known evidence of organized settlements, some with storage pits. Artistic work with cave paintings, petroglyphs, carvings and engravings on bone or ivory.
