Due to cumulative serotonergic effects, dextromethorphan should not be used as a cough suppressant in individuals concomitantly taking any of the following medications except:

a) Second-generation antipsychotic.
b) Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor.
c) Tricyclic antidepressant.
d) Monoamine oxidase inhibitor.
